SelfNeuron Privacy Policy

Effective: October 3, 2026
The short version
  • Private AI. The AI that reads your files and answers your questions runs on infrastructure we control. Your content isn't sent to OpenAI or any other AI company to be read or answered.
  • No training. Your content is never used to train AI models.
  • Read-only Google access. We never change or delete anything in your Drive or Gmail.
  • Never sold. We don't sell your data, and your files and email are never used for advertising.
  • You're in control. Disconnect a source or delete your account anytime, and the data goes with it.
This summary is for convenience. The full policy below is what applies.

1Who we are

SelfNeuron is operated by iPowersoft, Inc., 4400 Keller Ave #350, Oakland, CA 94605, United States ("iPowersoft", "we", "us"). We're responsible for the personal information described in this policy. It covers the SelfNeuron website, web app, Desktop Connector, API and SDK (the "Service"). Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

SelfNeuron lets you upload files, connect Gmail, Google Drive and Google Cloud Storage, and sync folders on your computer with the Desktop Connector, then ask questions answered from your own content. This policy explains what that means for your data at each step.

2What we collect

Account information

Your email address, name, and anything you choose to add to your profile, such as a photo, alternate email or phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.

Your content

The files, emails, text and notes you upload or connect. We also keep the text we extract from them, the search index built from that text, and your questions, answers and conversation history.

Billing information

If you buy a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your plan, payment status and billing history from Stripe, but never your full card number.

Usage and device information

Your IP address, browser and device type, approximate location based on your IP address, sign-in sessions, and how you use features such as how many questions you ask. We use this to run the Service, keep your account secure, enforce plan limits and improve the product.

3How we use it

  • To provide the Service: syncing and indexing your content, answering your questions, and showing your history.
  • To run your account and billing: sign-in codes, subscriptions, receipts and renewal reminders.
  • To keep things secure: detecting abuse, protecting accounts and fixing problems.
  • To improve SelfNeuron: using aggregated usage information, never the content of your files.
  • To talk to you: service messages, replies to your questions, and product news if you opt in. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

We don't sell your personal information, and we never use your content for advertising. Our marketing website uses Google Ads conversion measurement, described in section 7.

4Private AI infrastructure

Your files are processed privately, by our own AI.

  • On infrastructure we control. The language model that generates answers and the model that creates search embeddings both run on infrastructure we control, inside our own private network on Google Cloud. Your files and messages aren't sent to a third-party AI provider to be processed. If you turn on the Web source, your question is sent to Google Search to find results; your files are not.
  • No training on your content. Your content is used only to answer your own questions. It isn't used to train, fine-tune or improve any model that serves other users.
  • Private to your account. Your content and answers are visible only to you.

5Google Drive and Gmail data privacy

SelfNeuron's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

When you connect Google Drive or Gmail, you're asked to grant read-only access (drive.readonly and gmail.readonly). We use that access only to read the files and messages you choose to connect, so they can be indexed and searched inside SelfNeuron. We never write to, change or delete anything in your Google account.

  • Only for features you can see: Google user data is used only to provide and improve the search, summary and question-answering features in the SelfNeuron interface.
  • No transfers: we don't transfer Google user data to anyone except as needed to provide those features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition, and then only with your consent where required.
  • Never for advertising: we don't use, transfer or sell Google user data for advertising of any kind.
  • Never for training general AI models: we don't use Google user data to create, train or improve any general machine-learning or AI model.
  • Human access: no one at SelfNeuron reads your Google data unless you ask us to (for example, for support), or it's needed for security or to comply with the law.

You can disconnect a Google source from your profile at any time, or revoke access in your Google account permissions.

Google Cloud Storage

When you connect Google Cloud Storage, you give SelfNeuron read-only access to the buckets and folders you choose, so their files can be indexed and searched. We never change or delete anything in your buckets. You can disconnect a bucket from your profile, or remove SelfNeuron's access in your Google Cloud console, at any time.

6Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers ("subprocessors") to run SelfNeuron. They may process data only on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the Service, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. If that happens, we'll tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

7Cookies and analytics

The SelfNeuron app uses essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in and remember your settings. Our marketing website also uses:

  • Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages are useful;
  • Google Ads conversion measurement (the _gcl_au cookie), to see whether our Google ads lead to sign-ups;
  • Stripe cookies, to help prevent payment fraud;
  • Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that doesn't use cookies.

We don't use advertising pixels from Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok or X. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the Service may not work without the essential ones.

8Data retention

How long we keep each kind of data, and when it's deleted.

  • While your account is open: we keep the files and messages you connect, the text we extract, and the search index built from them, for as long as the source stays connected.
  • When you disconnect a source: we delete the content synced from it, along with its extracted text and search index.
  • When you delete your account: we delete your account and content. Remaining backup copies are removed within 30 days as our backups cycle.
  • Records we must keep: billing and transaction records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, separately from your content.

9Deleting your data

  • Delete a connected source: disconnect it from your profile.
  • Delete individual files or your search history: use the options in the app.
  • Delete your whole account: open your profile settings and choose Delete Account. This is permanent and can't be undone.
  • Revoke Google access: remove SelfNeuron from your Google account permissions to stop any further access immediately.
  • Ask us: email us and we'll handle the request for you.

10Data security

Your files are encrypted in transit with TLS and at rest with AES-256. Sign-in is passwordless: you sign in with a one-time code we email you, or with your Google account, so there's no SelfNeuron password to be stolen or reused. Access to production systems is restricted to the people who need it to run the Service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your data, and we'll notify you as the law requires if a breach affects your information.

11Your privacy rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you, and get a copy;
  • correct anything that's inaccurate;
  • delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • opt out of marketing emails at any time.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You also have the right to know what personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it and who we share it with, and to limit our use of sensitive personal information to what's needed to provide the Service. We don't sell your personal information, and we never use your files or email for advertising. Our marketing website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies, described in section 7, which you can block in your browser settings. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

To make a request, email us from the address on your account. We'll verify it's you before acting and respond within the time the law requires. An authorized agent can make a request for you with written permission we can verify.

12International users

SelfNeuron is operated from the United States, and your data is stored and processed in the United States. If you use SelfNeuron from outside the US, including the EU or UK, your information will be transferred to the US. Where laws like the GDPR apply, we process your data to provide the Service you've asked for (performance of a contract), for our legitimate interests in running and securing it, and with your consent where required. You have the rights listed above, plus the right to object, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

13Children

SelfNeuron isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SelfNeuron changes. We'll update the effective date at the top. For material changes, we'll email you or show a notice in the app at least 30 days before they take effect.
